FAQS
What qualifications do the Healthy Kids staff have? All childcare providers meet the licensing requirements for their assigned position. All staff attend Healthy Kids University prior to each school year and regular mandatory training throughout the year. Each program has staff trained in First Aid and CPR. Staff is fingerprinted and have completed criminal and child abuse background checks as required for licensure. On-going formal and informal evaluations of staff performance and program assessment are completed by the Regional Director.
What are your staff per child ratios? We generally follow state guidelines for staff per child ratios. For the exact ratio in your state, please reach out to the Regional Director listed under your location or send our Registration Team a chat or give them a call at 845-330-0200.
How do I pay my tuition? We utilize a family-friendly software app called Playground for our billing. Upon registration, you will be asked to link a method of payment on your account and enroll in automatic billing. You must link a credit or debit card in order to pay the registration fee. Once your account is set up, you can link a checking account to avoid processing fees.
Do you accept subsidized child care payments? Healthy Kids is proud to work hand in hand with multiple outlets that offer childcare assistance and subsidies for families who need them. You can learn more by contacting our Subsidy Team at subsidy@healthykidsprograms.com or by visiting our subsidy page.
Why is my tuition the same each month even when there are Holidays and School Breaks? Our before/after school tuition is based on a full year price that takes into consideration scheduled school breaks, Holidays and closures as well as a few unexpected snow days and missed days. We then take that number and break it down to 10 equal monthly payments so your tuition is the same each month.
Can I get a credit for sick or missed days? We understand that occasional absences due to illness or other circumstances are sometimes unavoidable. However, in order to maintain the high-quality programming and staffing that our families rely on, we are unable to provide credits for missed or sick days. Our operational costs, including staff wages and program supplies, remain consistent regardless of attendance. This policy ensures we can continue offering dependable, enriching experiences for all children in our care.
Do you provide lunch or snacks? We kindly ask families to provide a healthy afternoon snack for children enrolled in the After School Program. For those in the Full Day Program, please send a healthy lunch along with morning and afternoon snacks. While we maintain a supply of emergency snacks for occasional forgetfulness, our programs may also offer snacks during celebrations or specific curriculum activities. ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS ARE PEANUT FREE.
Do you provide transportation? If your child is attending a program outside their school, please contact the school district's transportation department to arrange bussing to and from our program location before their start date. Once confirmed, notify us of the bus route number and arrival/departure times so we can inform the staff at your program location. Enrollment cannot be finalized without this information. Please note that in some cases, additional paperwork may be required to establish bussing arrangements.
If I drop off late or pick up early, am I charged differently? You are free to drop off and pick up any time within the program's hours however the tuition does remain the same. Due to having to stay within state ratio of staff per child, we do have to have the correct amount of staff scheduled regardless of how long a child attends on a particular day.
How can I modify my child's schedule or disenroll? Please send schedule change requests to registration@healthykidsprograms.com and include your child's name, the schedule change and when you would like it to go into effect. We do require two week's notice for schedule changes in order to adjust your billing.
