VERMONT FAMILIES ARE NOW ELIGIBLE TO ACCESS REDUCED CHILDCARE COSTS THROUGH ACT 76, THE STATE'S NEW CHILDCARE LAW

Through Act 76, income eligibility for the state’s child care tuition assistance program (the Child Care Financial Assistant Program) increased to include thousands more Vermont children and their families.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Vermont Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) is a state-funded program that helps eligible families afford childcare services.

These funds provide direct subsidies to childcare providers on behalf of eligible families.

This ensures that more families can access affordable, high-quality childcare.

Higher-income limits mean more families qualify.

No out-of-pocket tuition while your application is being processed.

Quality childcare for your child, peace of mind for you.

No out-of-pocket tuition while you are in the process of applying!

IS MY FAMILY ELIGIBLE?

To be eligible, children must be under 13 years old.

Families must have an approved reason for needing child care, like work or training

Families must meet Vermont’s income guidelines 

They must be a Vermont resident

Families have to have less than $1 million in assets

HOW TO APPLY

Submit an online application through the Child Development Division Information System (CDDIS) Parent Portal.

  • If you provided an email address on your last application, you can use it to access the Parent Portal. If you have not provided an email address before, you can sign up for the Parent Portal now.

  • For the best experience, it is highly encouraged to use Google Chrome on a laptop, tablet or desktop to fill out the application. Using a mobile phone to complete the online application is not recommended at this time.

  • For help reducing the size of the files you are trying to upload refer to the document linked here.

After applying you will need to submit additional forms. Documents and additional forms needed to process your application can be submitted to your local community child care support agency or uploaded in the CDDIS Parent Portal.

If you get Reach Up, ask your case manager if they can authorize Child Care Financial Assistance for you. If they can, you won't have to complete an application.

You can also complete the paper application and submit in person or by mail to your local community child care support agency
