Healthy Kids didn't begin with a goal of becoming one of the nation's fastest-growing providers of school-based programs.

Our Journey Through the Years
Every chapter in our story represents another relationship built, another child who found a place to belong, and another community that placed its trust in Healthy Kids.
Where It Started
Healthy Kids began when Steve Dwek purchased the building and four school-age programs from the New Windsor YMCA in New York. What started as one community partnership became the foundation for everything that followed.
2007
2008-2017
Growing One Relationship at a Time
Over the next dacade, Healthy Kids grew steadily to 40 locations, expanding one school and one community at a time.

Rising to Meet the Moment
As demand grew, we expanded into early learning, accelerated our growth, and remained open throughout COVID—supporting essential workers, operating remote learning centers, and helping families when they needed us most.
2022–Today
Growing Our Impact
Healthy Kids expanded into new states, opened additional early learning centers, launched UPK programs, and partnered with more schools than ever before—all while staying true to the relationships that have guided us from the very beginning.

As our impact has grown, we've been honored with recognition like becoming a Certified Benefit Corporation and earning a place on the Inc. 5000 and other fastest-growing company lists. Those milestones aren't the destination—they're a reflection of the trust our communities continue to place in Healthy Kids. The best chapter of our story is still ahead.

We've grown from one community to many. We've expanded into new states, launched new programs, and reached thousands more children and families. But the reason we come to work each day hasn't changed.
