We proudly partner with Vermont State's child care assistance program to help make our services more affordable to families. Whether your child is just starting out or needs care during the school year or summer, we're here to support you every step of the way.
Is My Family Eligible?
Check the requirements below to see if you qualify
Eligibility Requirements

✓ To be eligible, children must be under 13 years old
✓ Families must have an approved reason for needing child care, like work or training
✓ Families must meet Vermont’s income guidelines
✓ They must be a Vermont resident
✓ Families have to have less than $1 million in assets
Eligibility is redetermined every 12 months and families must recertify annually.

What Documentation Do I Need?
Gather these documents before you apply
Proof of Identification & Household Composition
Used to confirm who is in the home. Examples may include: photo ID for parent/guardian (driver's license, state ID, passport), birth certificates for children, Social Security numbers(if available), custody or guardianship documents (if applicable)
Proof of Income (Required)
Examples may include: recent pay stubs (typically last 4-8 weeks), employer verification letter, most recent tax return (especially for self-employed families), proof of other income:

Unemployment benefits

Social Security (SSI/SSDI)
Proof of Work, School, or Training (Activity Requirement)
Families must show they are engaged in an approved activity: employer schedule or verification letter, school or college enrolment, job training program documentation, approved job search participation (if allowed)
Proof of Vermont Residency
Examples may include: lease or rental agreement, utility bill (electric, gas, water), official mail with name and address, drivers license/ state ID (if current address is listed)
Child Care provider Information
Family must provide: provider name and program, location of care and schedule (days/hours needed)
Additional documentation (if applicable)
Depending on family situation:

School enrollment verification for older children
Accepted document types include: PDF, DOC/DOCX, JPEG, or PNG
Certain documents may fulfill more than one requirement.
How to Apply
Submit an online application through the Child Development Division Information System (CDDIS) Parent Portal​
If you provided an email address on your last application, you can use it to access the Parent Portal. If you haven’t provided an email address before, you can sign up for the Parent Portal now

Using a mobile phone to complete the online application is not recommended

After applying, you’ll need to submit additional forms. Documents and additional forms can be submitted to your local community child care support agency or uploaded in the CDDIS Parent Portal

If you get Reach Up, ask your case manager if they can authorize Child Care Financial Assistance for you. If they can, you won’t have to complete an application.

You can also complete the paper application and submit it in person or by mail to your local community child care support agency
