At Healthy Kids, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can learn and grow. To make that possible, we have clear behavior expectations rooted in respect, responsibility, and positive communication.
Our Approach
We use positive behavior management strategies to help children build social-emotional skills, manage conflict constructively, and make responsible decisions. Our team is trained to foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that supports children of all ages and abilities.
Code of Conduct
To keep our programs safe and successful, we ask all children to follow the expectations below:
✅ Safety First: We conduct regular buddy checks, safety drills, and follow procedures to ensure every child’s well-being.
✅ Respect & Kindness: We expect honesty, positive language, good sportsmanship, and sharing.
✅ Responsibility: Kids should clean up after themselves and respect the environment.
✅ Listening & Participation: In group settings, we ask for listening ears, raised hands for contributions, and indoor voices inside.
✅ Following Directions: Our staff is here to help—if something is unclear, just ask!
✅ No Aggressive Behavior: Throwing objects, roughhousing, pushing, or using inappropriate language is not acceptable.
✅ Seek Help, Don’t Retaliate: If there’s a conflict, always bring it to a staff member instead of handling it alone.
Children are expected to follow these guidelines during all program hours, including field trips and special events.
Positive Reinforcement
We encourage good behavior by:
Acknowledging positive choices
Using verbal praise and recognition
Offering incentives and privileges
Encouraging reflection and peer modeling
If Behavior Becomes a Concern
While occasional missteps are developmentally appropriate, repeated or serious behavior concerns will be addressed with care and transparency:
Verbal Redirection – Staff will coach the child in real-time
Temporary Removal – A brief break from the group to reset
Written Behavior Report – Shared with the parent/guardian
Parent Communication – A phone call or meeting to collaborate
Behavior Support Plan – Developed with the family if needed
In rare cases, unsafe or disruptive behavior may result in suspension or removal from the program.
Immediate Dismissal Policy
Healthy Kids Programs reserves the right to remove a child immediately for:
🚫 Dangerous Behavior – Any action that puts other children or staff at risk.
🚫 Physical Harm – Intentionally hurting another child or staff member.
🚫 Theft or Property Damage – Stealing or intentionally destroying items.
🚫 Refusal to Follow Safety Directives – Disregarding staff instructions that impact safety.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for violence. Any child who physically harms another will be removed from the program without a refund. We encourage all children to seek staff assistance when conflicts arise, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Family Partnership
We believe that families are essential partners. If your child has an IEP, 504 Plan, or behavioral support needs, please let us know during registration. We'll work together to ensure consistency, safety, and success.
