How to Check In, Check Out & Manage Attendance Using Playground

Healthy Kids uses the Playground Parent App for safe, quick, and accurate check-ins, check-outs, and attendance tracking. Whether you're scanning a QR code or reporting an absence—this guide walks you through it all.

Check In/Out with a QR Code

This is the fastest and most common way to check your child in and out.

Steps:

1. Open the Playground App on your mobile device and log in.

2. Tap the QR code icon in the top right corner of your screen.

3. Allow camera access if prompted.

4. Scan the provider's QR code posted at your child's program site.

5. You'll be taken to a confirmation screen.

6. Tap “Sign for students”.

7. If the wrong name is shown, tap “Not you?” to select the correct guardian.

8. Add your signature, if prompted.

9. Tap “Submit”.✅ You’ll see a green confirmation message when attendance is successfully recorded.

   
   

How to Find Your PIN Code

1. Open the Playground App.

2. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.

3. Tap Settings.

4. Tap “View PIN code”.Your personal code will appear at the bottom of the screen.

   
   

How to Mark Your Child Absent

If your child won’t be attending, you can mark them absent ahead of time or for today.

Steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap “View Student’s Profile” (blue banner at top).

2. Tap “Mark Absence”.

3. Tap “Absence Dates” to choose the dates they’ll be out.

4. Select the child(ren) you're reporting.

5. Choose a Reason for Absence.

6. Tap “Done” in the top right corner.

   
   

How to Mark a Partial Absence

Perfect for doctor’s appointments or midday pickups.

Steps:

1. Tap “View Student’s Profile”.

2. Tap “Mark Absence”.

3. Open Absence Details and select “Partial Day Absence”.

4. Set the start and end time for the absence.

5. Select your child(ren) and provide a reason.

6. Tap “Done”.

   
   

How to View Attendance History

Need to see when your child was signed in or out?

Steps:

1. From the Feed on the home screen, tap Filters.

2. Under Post Type, choose “Signatures”.

3. Tap Done.

4. You’ll now see only sign-in and sign-out records.Tap “Tap here to view” for additional details like time and signature.

   
   

Tips & Reminders

• You must be physically near the site to check in/out with QR.

• Only authorized contacts in your Playground account can sign your child in or out.

• Photo ID may be requested, especially at the beginning of the school year.

• If you're having issues, check Bluetooth/location settings or update your app.
