How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

We’re here to help make child care more affordable for your family. If you’re applying for state or county subsidy, just follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Apply for Tuition Assistance

Submit your child care subsidy application through your local county or state office. Be sure to include all required documentation—most counties require proof of income, employment, or school enrollment.

Step 2: Register for Healthy Kids

Go to www.healthykidsprograms.com and click “Locations” to find your school or desired site. Click “Learn More & Register” and complete your child’s enrollment form in Playground. To see a step-by-step guide on how to register, see How to Register.

Be sure to:

  • Select “Yes” when asked if you're applying for assistance

  • Pay the registration fee via credit/debit card (if required)

Step 3: Submit Proof of Application

Upload a screenshot, confirmation email, or caseworker receipt showing that you’ve submitted your subsidy application. Submit this directly to our team using your Playground Parent Portal or by emailing it to subsidy@healthykidsprograms.com.

This lets us mark your child as pending subsidy and allows us to track your progress.

Step 4: Start Care While You Wait

Once your paperwork is received, your child can begin attending Healthy Kids while you wait for approval, with no out-of-pocket tuition payments required up front (available in most locations).

You’ll only be responsible for your parent share once your subsidy is approved and processed.

⚠️ Note: All paperwork must be completed in full before your child’s official start date is confirmed.
